Theme Parks
Port Aventura is owned by Universal Studios, and is one of Europe's largest theme parks, comprising Port Aventura itself and the Caribe Aquatic Park. Port Aventura is based around 5 themed lands – China, Polynesia, the Mediterranean, Mexico and the Wild West. A number of death-defying rides, including the Dragon Khan, which features no less than 8 blood-curdling loop-the-loops, plus water rides like the Tutuki Splash and Grand Canyon Rapids (prepare to get soaked) are a massive draw for daredevils, but there’s plenty to keep more timid visitors occupied, too. Rides suitable for small children, plus live entertainment, shops and restaurants mean that there’s more than enough here to make everybody happy..
The Aquopolis water theme park offers another popular day out with the family. The park is located right on the beachfront and features dolphin and sea lion shows, as well as waterslides, and a series of pools and rides. Smaller children are well catered for with gentler rides, play areas and a petting zoo.
